Artist Profile | Born in 1977 in Oita City, Oita Prefecture, Makiko Ogomori opened her atelier gallery, COTO, in the spring of 2013. Nestled in a charming old house, it is located in the historic town of Taketa, known for its rich artistic heritage.
Ogomori crafts and develops her artwork using a limited selection of old tools, repurposed paper, and scrap materials such as dried leaves and wood chips. She believes that "plants and trees in nature are the greatest textbooks for me to learn from."
